    I chose the 6' pole, and wish I had gone with the longer one. It does a great job of holding you in position, but it's also good as a push pole if you get too shallow nd also to push off when you get too close to a dock or in the trees. It's also handy for reaching out and hooking another yak or a dock to pull rourself in.
