DIY Mounting Ram X-Grip to Jackson Big Rig Casting Brace
Many of us are always looking for the best way to take our “Hero” shots. For me, mounting my Ram X-Grip to the casting brace on my Jackson Big Rig was the solution. As shown in my youtube video, I drilled through the center of the casting brace and used a slightly longer screw than what is normally used with the ram ball to complete the mounting process. I then mounted the X-Grip upside down on the brace for a nice straight-on shot. I personally believe this allows me to take a more professional-looking photo than having the X-Grip and camera mounted on the center gear track shooting upward through my legs as shown in some of my photos prior to this.
Another option that many of you might look to consider would be the Ram Tough Claw Mount with the universal X-Grip. This mount could be used in the same manner but is removable. The Tough Claw Mount is also useful outside of fishing. Hunters can mount it on their rifle scopes or even the stabilizer of their bows. Furthermore, it would be very functional for a cyclist or someone who rides ATVs to mount their phone or camera on the handle bar.
Either option you choose to go with, I am sure that you will be more than satisfied. If you have any questions about either of these products, be sure to contact Delaware Paddlesports and they will take great care of you.
